COVID has trampled the world. My nation, Australia, is about to open up everything in the upcoming months. We’ve seen a surge in vaccination rate after an outbreak occurred in June/July – going from 11% vaccinated to 63% receiving their first dose by October 1. So NSW’s been swamped by COVID. We registered over 1400 cases per day, with numbers still rising. My already stretched hospital colleagues have received emails telling them that workloads will double in the next 2 weeks. Our vaccination rate is increasing, but the Delta virus spreads, and overwhelms hospital, even in the most vaccinated nations in the world. So yeah. 14 days ago now, I found out, in hospital I had diabetes. We went in for super high fat levels. Turns out it wasn’t the kebabs, but high blood sugar causing this.
